It felt SO GOOD to vote in VA yesterday. Granted, I’m in a very blue county, but you could tell everyone’s eyes were shifting around to take note of what color “sample ballots” people had picked up, and discreetly nodding at one another.

It was also supposed to prevent the blue wave in 2006 as well. We really need to start taking over state houses before the next redistricting.
Guys, let this be a reminder of several things.
In Knoxville, Tennessee, 4 out of 5 city council seats went to women, the most women to ever serve at one-time. Seema(a socialist) became the first Indian-American woman elected to the council and Lauren(Democrat), a first-time candidate, defeated a former school board member and state legislator!
ALSO, it is likely that now that the VA House of Delegates will flip to blue, which would be incredible. Larry Krasner will be DA of Philadelphia, once all the most unelectable candidate, he opposes mass incarceration, is a big BLM supporter, and was hated by the police union. It’s going to be interesting seeing him…
Also! ALSO! St. Paul, MN elected our first African American Mayor last night-Melvin Carter! (He beat out the old white dude. Carter is a refreshing 37!) HELLO Mr. Mayor!
Gerrymandering was supposed to prevent a blue wave like this which is a good omen for 2018.
Which brings me to my next point. At what point will Republicans decide to stop appealing to an increasingly shrinking number of Americans and hoping they can just prevent enough of the other sorts of Americans from voting?
You know what else is great? All these awesome things happened despite Donna Brazile’s fervent effort to make the Democratic Party look incompetent and nefarious.
I mean, James Cameron’s logic doesn’t sound half wrong either. I wouldn’t have bought Jack suddenly figuring out all he has to do is tie the life jackets to the bottom of the door. We saw how long it took him to get a set of keys and unlock a door underwater, let’s be real he wouldn’t be able to do the life jacket…
I find it chilling. A lot of people criticize it for being shallow, but they’re all wet—it’s actually really deep.
THIS. No, you are not “growing your own business”. You have fallen for a scam. Small businesses are the backbone of small town economies and community development. This shit is the exact opposite of that.
The classic, fraudulent pyramid scheme is based on a product that is irrelevant (or no product) because the purpose of the scheme is the pyramid itself. If it’s a product with substantial consumer sales (i.e. not just pyramid participants), then it is distinguished as multi-level marketing. He’s making a public…
Can you imagine Miss America wearing a “Dump Trump” t-shirt leading up to the pageant?
If you have to say it’s not a pyramid scheme....it’s probably a pyramid scheme.
It’s more the active recruiting that goes into any MLM that I find fucked up. You’re basically guilting your friends into buying from you and then encouraging them to spend more money to push it on more people (that you then get a cut of.) To me, it puts undue burden on friendships.
Whatever.
She flipped him off for all of us.
This cannot be a surprise to anyone. I have so many of these #bossbabes on my Facebook, hoking Beach Body shakes and essential oils. And it annoys the crap out of me.
A woman on my Facebook (knew her from high school, well over a decade ago) is shilling Young Living oils HARD, and it is honestly painful to watch. She has three kids under three, is a stay at home mom without much education, and she clearly is desperate for something fulfilling that isn’t toddler/baby related. It…
I know that I must sound like a broken record in the comments by now; here we go again: these pyramid schemes are economic cults. What you describe, the dancing, singing, clapping, preying on people’s emotions: that’s what cults do. Sucking people in, giving them an emotional high at first; those things are part of…
