Jez, I love you, but this horse seems confusingly beyond dead. I absolutely believe in believing the victims, but... Kirkman straight up said it’s not him two years ago, and specifically called out Jezebel for spreading these rumors:

I literally read the interview with Jenn Kirkman yesterday, and this feels more like a way to keep people outraged and get clicks than actually trying to get the truth. The Kinja bros will love it though. Anything that feeds their hate for Jezebel makes them happy.
Yep. The last time this issue was discussed the writer did the same thing, and the commenters all pointed out that he addressed the allegations directly.
This is getting boring and a little gross. It’s reminding me of the call for unedited photos of Lena Dunham – skeevy and not what I’d expect from this site.
Wow, doubling down on this crap even after Kirkman’s statements. Gawker never really died did it?
Yes. This is not okay. It’s not a funny story. It’s literally a crime.
Why did a high dose of a drug affect her that way? Dunno. It’s a mystery.
That is really, really fucked up that they gave her the real thing without telling her/asking for permission.
I think just saying “men” misses the mark on the greater evil at play, the media. It doesn’t even matter which way they lean, they all hand out redemption passes like cheap candy on Halloween. Oprah was one of the first “give him a chance” assholes. Ellen getting chummy with Dubya, who spent his entire career trying…
Most people in media are Democrats - look at the big donors - they are the ones who own the tv networks. But i imagine that Bill O’Reilly would bring in big ratings, and that trumps everything. Also, I do agree with you that a lot of men will side with men over women, regardless of, say, political affiliation.
The “teens don’t work” thing makes me literally laugh out loud, because when I go back to my hometown all the jobs that me and my siblings used to work are now done by grown adults. Because they are the only jobs available. “Back in the day” it made sense for kids to work at the grocery store as a cashier, because…
Ok yeah but the findings also stated that they are more anxious, depressed and have extreme difficulty relating to their peers and other people in person due to so much of their socializing taking place via phone/computer screen. So. I am glad that this generation seems to indulge in less risky behavior and they…
yeah, back then, going on a date was about having the opportunity to see the other person’s face, talk with them and spend time with them. I am sure we all could remember having massive crushes on people and desperately looking for any way possible to catch a glimpse of them in public so a scoring date with one’s…
I remember reading a PhD paper that used the term “sticky floor” to explain this. Women are just kept in the lower paying jobs more than men. I find it amazing how difficult this concept is to grasp, yet...
Men leak naked photos of women: “She’s the one who took the photo. He just posted it to the internet.”
The only thing he’s promoting in copy writing blurbs for a program is the program himself, or did you miss my comment about how he’s mostly unemployable as an editor and film critic? He’s not being given a platform to advocate for anything.
I don’t know how it is in Silicon Valley, but I was in finance for three years and I can tell you banking works exactly like that. There are male-coded jobs and female-coded jobs. They have identical job descriptions and identical sales goals, but the male jobs have “sales” in the title and are paid much more and…
That’s exactly what it is, one was on the “sales enablement ” ladder when the work she was doing wasn’t different than the people on the better compensated “sales” ladder. It was mainly men on the sales and women on the sales enablement. The other one with “business” and “technical” ladders seems more egregious since…
Works for me. If your employer/sponsor does something that you deem objectionable, leaving is probably the best option. It’s up to the ideology of the individual to decide whether that’s boo-/praise-worthy. ::shrug::
