Well, I think 2-5 percent is still a pretty wide margin. At the top end of that, you’re looking at 1 in 20. How many falsely accused is that? I wouldn’t call 1 in 20 “extremely uncommon” at all. And certainly not “almost unhgeard of,” not even for 2 percent.

I agree that we should think about false accusations for all the reasons you cited, but I think we can also try to think about how many there might be. It is possible she was high when arrested. It is also possible that she used in prison. It is also possible (I guess?) that she used weeks before, and somehow it only leached out post-mortem. Though none of this means she deserved to die, discussing all this does not right wing conspiracy make.
