Nope! My Thunderstruke is currently mugged. Any ranged can be mugged to any ranged.
Last time I checked I was able to transmog my hunter’s bows into guns and guns into bows anyway. My hunter spent all of legion with a crafted engineering gun transmogged to a bow, so no people didn’t need this if they didn’t want to wield a gun.
Yep, their recent Q&A noted that they wanted to let hunters switch to a bow without having to jump through a bunch of hoops, but that it would obviously make that appearance commonplace and not exciting when you see it.
Actually, let’s do it. Send me an e-mail stephentotilo at kotaku dot com. We’ll see how boring you are.
I don’t know what to think with regards to Diablo right now.
Man I went into reading this thinking I knew exactly how it was going to go and I was wrong. The questions were good questions that got good answers. I don’t 100% support Cooks agenda but I understand and respect it. She doesn’t mind that fan service exists and doesn’t want it banned or to shun people who like it, she…
Glad that you’re open minded about the site, and I agree Cecilia asked some great questions!
Fun-fact the female anime watching audience in Japan also contributes a huge amount to sales (At least recently) With the onset of more female oriented shows like the comedy series Osomatsu-san. For a while OSomatsu-san dvd/blu-ray sales were CRAZY HIGH at first place in dvd sales with 43,313 units sold, 2nd place for…
Please critique anime. The fan service is pretty unbearable. As a grown man, I feel no shame in watching most western animation because in general the stuff on TV doesn’t have some of the grossly gratuitous fan service that anime has. I used to love anime but I’m embarassed by the vast majority now. I remember as a…
This was surprisingly level-headed and fair. I actually think the site can do some good at least getting a conversation going.
I see this art argument everywhere and I can see how someone can come to that conclusion. Because nowadays everything is considered to be art. Also censorship is something I personally don’t condone in a wolrd with free speech.
Planetes.
Unlike a lot of dudes I’ve actually watched these shows. I’ve watched (several times actually) Vampire Knight and Vampire Knight Guilty, I’ve watched Otome Adaptations like La Corda D’Oro. It’s easy to see the differences in appealling to male and female audiences, the reason male based female can be so jarring is…
I will agree that KLK gets embarrassing in its fanservice.
Really appreciate it!
I’m writing on this now! It’s such a hard thing to think through.
D’Anastasio: Really, that just seems to be fan service. What’s the issue? It’s like, “Here’s the meat of the anime, with a little pepper sprinkled on top.” It’s not the whole thing.
I feel like this is the entire point of this article, and I for one applaud the site for what it’s trying to do. Imagine if conventional western shows did something similar, where upon starting a new show you don’t know if in the middle of a plot-line you’re enjoying something sexual assault like is just.. shoved in…
Very good interview, Cook raises some important issues and points, and while I don’t agree 100% with her, she clearly is passionate about anime and her critique of fan service is level headed and insightful.
