I don’t have experience with Gears of War— not my cup of tea— but GTA5's camera was pretty smooth from what I can recall (it has been a few years, now). It’s a matter of how it points you at what your character is looking at vs. the environment.
“Optimization” was probably a poor word choice here... more like, one of the fine-tuned details that got left out.

I was worried it was more of an ugly motion-blur kind of thing like they did with the Type-0 remaster, but this is just poor optimization. (For those of you asking, “where’s the problem?”, watch how much the camera bobs up and down— especially on those steps, blegh).
My real question is: when the hell are people supposed to use these things? I can’t ever see a context in which I use a buncha flying red bits that make a star— especially over all of the other emotes they give you!
