The Game of Thrones s5 premiere broke its UK channel's ratings record, with 1.57m viewers. Granted, it's a channel only available on the Sky satellite TV format, but this is a show that is raved about and a part of the cultural lexicon. About 2.5% of the population watched it.

That's what I did with Britannia and others (in the UK). I'd sign up and get my mother to admonish them for extending credit to a minor.

I like the other product placement: when the girl leaves food out for the boy, the Coke can is placed just right for the logo to be seen. Even in my childhood, I picked up on that.

I did have a small matching jacket for when it got chilly.

One in particular did (he was the guy to whom I was getting married - we were re-enacting the wedding): "oh my God, I didn't think you were the type to get a tattoo!" to the guy in a wedding dress.

Or a fucking coffee shop.

My personal corollary for this is "Santa Claus: The Movie". I know it's terrible, but I watched it on my birthday as a kid, and had the best day.

True story - I'm quite a well-built guy but have always been shy about taking my shirt off in public. The first time most of my friends even realised that I have a tattoo was when I wore an off-the-shoulder wedding dress to my local pub on the day Prince William and Kate married.

That's an example of how my father and I do not get on - I have a tattoo (a small one that cannot be seen by anyone if I'm wearing a t-shirt) and he thought it would stop me getting work.
I'm an accountant in a charity.

However, farting in an elevator is just wrong on so many levels.

The ironing is delicious.
Just like cunnilingus.

I think that their sensibilities were also very "British": but I don't care, as I was in my very early 20s and listening to them loads.
I think Blair coming to power and trying to force the "Cool Britannia" thing had a major influence in killing BritPop in the UK. Nobody wants musicians to be associated with…

I'm still ridiculously proud of my signed De Niro/Pesci promo photo from Casino.
I too loved that film.

Pulp's "Different Class" was an instant classic to my ears. It was released in '95 (although it was '96 in the US).

I said this on yesterday's list - in 1995 Blur played the best gig I've ever been to.
Being at a British university '94-'97 was great for the music.

Mrs periscopes bought me K on MiniDisc…

Upvoted for the Once Were Warriors reference - that's a film that I watched, thought was amazing, and have been unable to revisit for 20 years.

I'm looking forward to Pete Wingfield's "58 With a Bullet".
