@AndyW: You know you can change the hotkey in Launchy?

How about 2 words (and a symbol)?

I do this and it works great.

Bought a motorcycle. (Well, half of one...) Gas prices are shit!

I originally kept everything, but then when searches started getting cluttered, I switched to deleting things I knew I would never need. I still archive more than I delete.

For those of you saying, Learn HTML: HTML is a markup language, not a programming language. Now, that doesn't mean it's inferior, but telling someone to learn HTML when they've asked about programming languages is like telling someone to learn to ride a bike when they ask about how to climb mountains.

@onesix18: You should send that to Lifehacker if you're willing to share it. :)

I went home sick yesterday. The decision was easy for me; I share an office with a friend that just had a baby. No point making him any more miserable than he already is by getting him sick.

@omegakumar: This is exactly how I keep myself from buying a new car. I think about all the miles I have spent in my truck. Sure, it doesn't run so well, and it's no chick magnet - but how long would it take me to wear the perfect butt groove, elbow resting groove, and accelerator groove into a new car?

I don't get it... Why do people want folders? Folders are a functional subset of labels - ie: anything that can be done with folders can be done with labels - and then some. I wouldn't mind seeing the ability to organize labels within parent labels - but thats not the same thing as folders.

If you use MediaMonkey (and you should!) there is a great script called AutoRateAccurate that will automatically adjust your ratings based on how often you play a song and how often you skip it. For those of us who don't have the time to rate all of their (*cough*legally purchased*cough*) music, this is a great tool.

@MikeT: Or just not care about sorting socks into pairs. I've never understood why it's so hard to just pick two matching socks out of a drawer (or in my case a basket)...

Session restore is where it's at. I just start back up on where I left off. Usually have my bug tracker, gmail, gcalendar, and greader open in tabs and whatever else from the day before.

This year, I consolidated all my debt with prosper.com. I now pay one bill with a reasonable interest rate instead of 4 with ridiculous interest rates. I cancelled all my credit cards. Contrary to popular wisdom, you DO NOT need credit cards for anything. Get a credit account (sans card) with your bank or take
