Put me in the big fan column as well. I’m a guy who’s loved rom-coms dating back to my teenage years in the mid-1980s, and I’ve loved this in-depth look at them. When Harry Met Sally made me want to move to NYC (which I eventually did, though I never found my be-hatted Sally wandering through Central Park).

I think the Friends finale was 10x worse than the HIMYM finale. The entire arc of Friends was built around Rachel’s story from runaway bride to independent woman, only for her to give it all up in the last 5 minutes to go back to a guy who nothing but mistreat her every time they got together. From what I remember it wasn’t immediately. The timeline that I saw had several years pass after the Mother’s death before Ted goes to the kids with the story. 

Yes. People get too hung up on the last episode. For a show that was about the journey, the journey was worth the time. Like any long running series there are peaks and valleys, but overall it’s a good show that gets great mileage out of the cast chemistry, some very creative episodes, and the occasional plot twist. 

She could be the crime-solving wife of Dean Dangerous in the Time Desk series of novels.

I loved him in Mac and Me.

Yeah that was my first thought. Stick him in another cat suit, and let him mince around acted scared of everything. It will be grating to watch, but it’s not hard to see that he’s a perfect fit for the part.

It’s the whole Oprah thing. Saying no to Oprah at the height of her book club was like saying no to Jesus when he asked you to pass the fish at the Last Supper. You just didn’t do it, and if you did, a bunch of disciples would never forgive you for it.
