It’s Maher talking over Julian, trying to push his belief system on him (married people are putting on a show, there’s a certain “personality type” that likes to be single, putting him in the same camp as Oprah and the Pope, I guess?) and not letting Julian try to express that…

What the fuck? “Don’t talk about how much you love your wife in case your ex hears” is certainly a take, I guess, especially from a man who has never married. Strong incel energy to be honest.

I’m perfectly fine shitting on someone who’s “just following orders” (my words, not yours). It reeks of capitalistic imperialism, the very notion of which should be stamped out and never, ever tolerated, regardless of whether it’s the norm or not.

Minhaj’s comedy and persona have always felt “at a distance”; sometimes it’s a pretentious air couched in a superiority complex where he seems to float above us all who don’t do comedy, and other times it’s a guarded sense of otherism where he seems to call out his own audience (as you said, mainly White liberals)…

My wife and I have talked about how we want a category for “Biggest Swing”. Basically, which actor gave it their all (for better or for worse) but took a big risk and just went all in. Basically the Nicolas Cage award.

Doesn’t sound ‘wildly different’ to me, but okay. You like FromSoft games, we get it - and that’s okay! It’s just a funny example to use those three games since they’re all in the same genre, from the same perspective, just with different settings and iterative gameplay elements.

I’ve never played FromSoftware games, but just from watching gameplay videos “wildly different” is not a phrase I’d use to describe Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. They look pretty same-y to me.
