Tanking is never a really good strategy in any Dark Souls game, as it leaves you vulnerable at sections. But I definitely tanked most of the time in 2 with a good build.

Not sure what cheap challenges you hit. Now that I tihnk about it I can claim 1 cheap challenge of the first Blowdart guys who instantly Toxic you. After the first one you learn to pay attention to sniper positions.

The Anal Lando Archers aren't really cheap since they're entirely beatable with proper practice and timing.

the reason people are so ravenous about the series is that it's one of the few nowadays that provides a fair, but difficult challenge compared to almost every shooter that just amps up difficulty by making enemies unfair 1-shot kills or bullet sponges (Borderlands)

The Grimoire cards are amazing btw. Some of the Vault of Glass cards are particularly interesting

from the sounds of it, these are Quarantined buildings that you can go in to, complete some objectives and exfiltrate out of. These additions being on the higher end of the difficulty.
