Word of warning, GMG doesn't seem to give out codes anytime prior to launch. So preloading and playing at midnight is impossible. If you don't care, then go for it.

crashes, yeah. but not OS reloads like you were saying can happen.

Auto update doesn't do anything unless the computer is in a shutdown state or if it's booting up.

I don't think I've ever heard of a computer actually BREAKING your computer (As in an OS reload). A crash, sure. But most people finish what they're doing before playing a game (I at least save before I jump to another task.
