Eva is an odd one because it takes such a dramatic turn in its latter half. I would say if you absolutely cannot stand the characters, or the style, or the writing, and after an episode or 2 you hate it, then quit. BUT, if you are at least some what interested in or enjoying at least one aspect of the show, then its

Evangelion’s themes aren’t deep enough to make up for the shallowness of its presentation.

I literally told my wife yesterday that Evangelion is an anime I don’t like, but I respect it.

In 1995, Evangelion was as revelatory to anime fans as the Christian themes it toys with. But some fans elevated Evangelion beyond “must-see;” for them, it was “must-like.”

I’m 31 and I have always and will always think this show is not good. I have been criticized all my life for not liking it, but it is what it is!

It’s almost sacrilege to say it, but I am also not much of a fan.  It’s been a while since I saw it but I have no great desire to watch it again.

Cowboy Bebop is better, more important, and stands alone as a piece of media better than Neon, which is an anime and only an anime.

I did the same, but I just loaded up on jars of peanut butter. It doesn’t go bad and it tastes great and I could always scrape together bread money. Another cheap thing I ate was these mystery meat things called Steak Tonight. Made from little particles of beef, they were cheap as hell. Cooked in a frying pan, they

Obviously, ramon was a staple in my life, but I’d end up with 2/3 a loaf of bread in the fridge that I didn’t want it to go bad.

Condiment sandwiches. Basically when I was in my early 20s and didn’t follow a budget, I could afford a loaf of bread, and sandwich meat on payday, and I tend to always make double/triple meat sandwiches. Cut to a week from payday, I’d blown my entire paycheck and still had a week of living. Obviously, ramon was a

So you had to live barebones simply to buy a low $20k car, but you don’t think that’s indicative of a greater problem in this country?

Prejudice and racism are different. To our detriment, the words are used interchangably.

But that’s what happens now, except that the bills that pass are so watered-down and filled with pork that they don’t cause meaningful change anyway. We get all of the expense and aggravation of being constantly whipsawed (except when it comes to civil rights, which are just constantly eroding for women ad POC, and

it’s pretty dishonest of you to generalize the entire midwest as being racism-free.

i spent a good decade of my young life in the midwest, in a huge city that’s “only” 50% white, and this shit absolutely happened. what the fuck. how does this have 18 stars.

I agree, honestly the only part that was odd to me was that they own a home and share a bank account together. I love my brother dearly, but I don’t share a bank account this him. Like whoa.

Yeah. I found her description of the relationship very clear, though, and I think so long as she leads with that relatively early in a potential relationship it’s pretty easy to decide whether or not that’s something you could handle. It’s only awkward if she waits so long that she ends up in a stammering explain-fest

If it feels to them that they’re always going to come No. 2 to the person they regard as No. 1 then it’s inevitably going to lead to fractures.”

Yeah. That woman is obviously manipulative, based off of the Aquaman story. Maybe not maliciously so, but it is not good.

Totally agree. The issue isn’t THAT she is has a friend, it’s that the friend totally encroaches on all the intimate aspects that define a romantic relationship.
