Evangelion’s themes aren’t deep enough to make up for the shallowness of its presentation.  

I literally told my wife yesterday that Evangelion is an anime I don’t like, but I respect it.

In 1995, Evangelion was as revelatory to anime fans as the Christian themes it toys with. But some fans elevated Evangelion beyond “must-see;” for them, it was “must-like.”

I’m 31 and I have always and will always think this show is not good. I have been criticized all my life for not liking it, but it is what it is!
