I remember watching the World Series in London the year the Angels won it, and the cutest thing happened during games: in between innings, BBC2 would cut to two guys, sitting behind a desk, explaining the rules of baseball, particularly ones directly impacting that game. It was great!

Red Sox owner owns a soccer club in Premeir League and they gave up the home games, so I’m sure that’s on the list of reasons.

Goodwin’s Law, and I don’t even care:

Something that really strikes me about AEW’s build is how it is distinguishing itself with a visual style altogether separate from WWE’s, independent of the wrestling itself. And the reason I find this a prominent part of the story is that when WCW turned the business on its head with the introduction of The Outsiders

Put over =/= go over.

This bird is really hoping you didn’t notice that fart.

They don’t. They think “He’s having to push back against all these savages, that’s why he looks unhinged! I look like that all the time, especially when my wife makes me beat her.”.

I’m glad we can take this moment to reinforce the truth that Keenan Thompson... is good.

*checks notes* You are, in fact, not.

That’s why it’s Gay Hell instead of Gay Heaven.

Well, having now written their fifth piece about something they keep insisting is a non-story, it does seem like Deadspin is setting the bait and sitting back and waiting for the ‘you’re missing the point’ takes. It’s becoming a matryoshka doll of ‘who’s the real asshole here’.

“Score all the goals you can but maybe don’t celebrate like crazy when you’re up double digits” just seems like such a reasonable and common-sense take. The fact that it’s getting so much push-back is absolutely wild to me.

“Actually, it’s good to be a dick when you’re beating the shit out of a clearly under-matched opponent” is the worst and weirdest take Deadspin has been flogging since they trotted out “The New Orleans Pelicans have some sort of, uh, moral duty (?) to trade Anthony Davis to the Lakers because that would be entertaining
