He's the only recognizable person with real feelings in that show. And though he plays the stick-in-the-mud, he's more emotionally alive than his bored, whiny spouse.

Anybody know people like this? Show me the long-married woman who tells her husband that she likes his mustache when she despises it! It just is not done.
