Get a slice of your favorite meat, and wrap it up in a leaf of lettuce. Only problem is they need to stay cold, but if you're already bringing a cooler with drinks, or don't mind having an insulated bag, they are one of the quickest snacks I know.

I'm moving in with a few friends next year. We're all just out of college and are starting a new company together in a major city. What are some good ingredients to keep in our pantry/fridge for quick, easy, cheap, and/or healthy meals?

I just hope you're not doing anything important with any of them, then. And please tell me that AT LEAST your email is an exception

Looks like the clothespin could also make a good hook

First of all, if the passwords in the database are not salted, then an attacker can try every one of them at the same time (basically, take the hash of each possible password, and search that database for matches). This means that cracking the entire database is just as easy as cracking a single password.

EDIT: Oops

I'm having difficulty determining if this is sarcasm or not.

You are assuming that the attacker is using the slower of the two attacks. If he just wants to get all the easy passwords from a database he's obtained, he'll usually go with the passwords that can be cracked quickly. Not only are these easier to get, but users who pick poor passwords are more likely to reuse

Don't follow the instructions in this sentence.

If you need to just view the PPT file, then you just need to get a program that can view PowerPoints (i don't have an iPad, so I couldn't tell you anything about that), and some way to download the files securely (I'm sure the IT dept. could set up a web page with HTTPS and authentication...)

My dad is building a glass kiln for my mom for Christmas. I would like to give her a complementary gift, and I figure some good glass for her to use with it would be good. I can get plenty of clear, amber, and green glass quite easily (since those are commonly used for alcoholic drinks).

If you're using more that just HTML and CSS, then yes. If you're writing your own code in Javascript, or serverside with e.g. Python or PHP, then you are programming. HTML and CSS is NOT coding. It's closer to writing a Word document. (Though knowing HTML and CSS is necessary for web development)

Better safe than sorry, I suppose. The attention thing is probably the excuse that non-tech people are using to keep the old regulations (from the days when electromagnetic waves actually interfered with navigation equipment) in place.

I use G+ mainly for video chat. Though that's also a good excuse to have someone create an account...

Is it just me, or does lh really like Hack-a-day this week?

Do you remember what size it is and roughly what date it was created and last modified?

Have you repeated the network crash? if it only happened once, it's probably coincidence.

@donniezazen I don't know that grub-update will reinstall the bootloader. Though it would remove the uninstalled distro from the list.

I just realized... if you got Xubuntu installed, you should be able to install Lubuntu. It's certainly lighter than Mint.
