I agree with you, and I would add that there’s a symbolic value to Trump’s fall. He stands for ignorance, arrogance, white supremacy, and unrestrained machismo. America needs to learn that you can’t elect a guy like that to do one of the hardest jobs in the world, especially not in 2017.

It seems like just so much silly effort on their part— “Those people are all paid, they don’t REALLY dislike Trump at all! They would all be out there marching for Trump, if only they hadn’t been paid! You Trumpettes really are the silent majority!”

“It would be a nightmare, no doubt. But one that we could resist without fearing for our actual lives.”

The bright side of a pence presidency and enacting the Ryan agenda - it can more easily be reversed, and actually gutting social security and Medicare could be disastrous for years for the GOP. At the same time, you’d think Kansas and Louisiana would be a clarion call that the supply side trickle down economics

i agree, honestly, and i hate that i agree, because pence is the worst of the worst. but pence is a politician, not a loose cannon. pence will do the predictable thing and spend his time targeting social programs instead of trying to trigger a nuclear holocaust and/or world war. we’ll be fighting with him on one

Also remember, when Trump goes, so does his goddamn toxic family and people like Conway, Miller, and Bannon.

Ah, but they can get primaried out. I hope all the Dems in his district switch over to the GOP for the primary just to get his ass out of there.

I saw an article about how protesters were faxing invoices to Jason Chaffetz asking to be paid.

Well hours before this story broke the House GOP voted to NOT make Herr Cheeto release his tax returns. So...I have my doubts that anything will come of this in terms of investigations. And NYT just posted how Sessions is refusing to recuse himself from investigating Russian collusion since he was so involved in the

After 7 investigations and 37 hearings on Benghazi they’re all investigated out. But thanks for asking.

When the OGE said that “congress or the President” need to investigate Conway, Chaffetz was pretty quick to point at Trump and say “This guy! The incompetent buffoon that hired her in the first place, and is willing to lie constantly to cover-up even his most inconsequential fuck-ups, he should totally be trusted to

Chaffetz is the worst. Smiles and shakes your hand, then cowardly posts on IG how happy you are she isn’t the president and will continue to investigate (but nothing about Russia, huh?). Or hold a town hall meeting that’s filled with angry constituents and then later dismiss them as paid protestors.

Agreed with you on most points. The thing is that Pence would be a little less susceptible to personal flattery and intensive corruption. By the time Trump finishes with us, park land will be given to the highest bidder, the EPA will be obsolete, and civil rights in severe jeopardy.

The ideal situation is that this cripples the trump administration, and prevents them from getting anything done, but is not bad enough to rest in an impeachment. Pence is a true religious zealot who actually believes in his abhorrent policies (unlike trump who just flip flops when most convenient). and he will be

This is the end game of gerrymandering, no need for accountability.

Chaffetz must be ruling the day he took the chair for oversight. His district is so gerrymandered he might survive in two years, but he will be under constant pressure to, as his constituents chanted, do his job. His options kind of suck, though. He can initiate an investigation of Trump, which will almost certainly

He is the human equivalent of a slimy slug. I want to salt him or invite him out for a beer.

McConnell saying the Republicans can handle an investigation is like when an abuser’s enabling relatives say “it’s a family issue, we’ll deal with it privately.”

Joke’s on them — they’re going to lose re-election anyway.

Oh, fuck me. These craven, gutless Republicans are despicable. If HRC’s campaign had been in contact with a foreign power during the election, the GOP would be baying for blood.
