I think this is actually a nice, interesting design that has aged pretty well. Powertrains, though, are totally “meh,” electrics are undoubtedly of appropriate GM (read: “shitty”) quality given the vintage of these two cars, and that unglued rearview mirror is giving me flashbacks to GM rigs of my own from this era.

My mother had one of these, a ‘92 in beige beige beige BEEEIIGE EVERYWHERE, inside and out. It was quite a sumptuous automobile for a family that wasn’t poor, but also didn’t exactly live in the lap of luxury. It contained the first CD player our family owned. It was a terrific highway cruiser on our numerous road

The styling isn’t for me (and hasn’t aged all that well), but I’m a touch bemused by all the hate for the PT. I’d even venture to say that it’s a little bandwagon-y…it’s cool to hate the PT, so let’s all pile on it together.

A Russian weapons manufacturer is less than morally upstanding? How shocking.

Not that I need to point it out around here, but...
On what fucking planet is a 2000 Dodge Ram a “classic”?

That motor will probably maybe run for quite a while longer given its modest odo reading.
On the other hand, this being a GM product of that vintage, *everything* else is going to start falling apart and/or developing gremlins, like, yesterday.

I’ve got 21 months left on a 5-year loan for my 2018 Silverado, at an utterly paltry monthly sum (I put the max amount down that would still get me across the financing threshold to still qualify for a couple of price incentives). I could sell my truck tomorrow for more than I paid for it, finish off the loan, and

Hot take: Steve Carell partially abandoned comedy upon beginning ‘The Office,’ which isn’t funny at ALL.

A “fairly decent-looking” example of a not-that-desirable ‘Vette with a bullshit mileage posting for 17k and a hook? This is what’s FONDly known as a FOND...
Fuck Off...No Dice.

$13k for a Bimmer pushing 200,000 miles? This occasion calls for the resurrection of the crack pipe. It would be an undeniably tempting, but still bad idea at like half the price.

This is a gorgeous car...always has been. It’s a classic. This one likely has some decent life left in it. But at this condition, it does not have over $10k worth of life.

Harley crap. Allllll the Harley crap.

Clean example of a desirable automobile in not-desirable trim. Worthy of purchase, but not for $10 grand.

I can’t help but like this thing. It’s amazingly well executed. The lines all look natural and clean, it seems to be solidly built, and those graphics are the exact right balance of silly and understatedly rad. The price is stupid, but this thing is so unique and impressive that I can’t help but NP it.

Presumably it’ll run fine(ish)? No performance, no creature comforts, but it looks way cooler than, like, a poverty-spec Corolla of recent vintage, the mileage is more than tolerable, and so long as it’s operable, this could be a DD beater type for less cash than you can get just about anything these days.
NP for usabil

Seems well-sorted, but not $40k worth. That seems to be on the high end for (non-preposterous) regular 928s currently on offer, but in this case, the conversion ruins the original model’s distinctive silhouette, which has aged quite well in my opinion. And “upgrades” like that seat fabric are just...tragic.

ND.

Since their introduction, I have had an entirely inexplicable affinity for 1st-gen Ventures. I just...like them, and I have no idea why.
I also really love cartoons.

Completely illogical (well, slightly logical...$2k for a running automobile is borderline free these days) NP.

95 large for a tacky “Look at me!”mobile with mileage that’s not catastrophic, but neither is it negligible. There’s an awful lot of fun to be had with that kind of coin, and this thing has been rendered basically incapable of having offroad fun while not looking nearly as cool as the seller’s crass tastes seem to

On paper, it seems like a hoot...still a great powertrain, and I love the stealthy underrated badass factor of this car in this color combo.
But I don’t care if it’s done mostly highway miles (which sounds like horse shit anyway)...police duty is NOT light duty, meaning those don’t strike me as 180,000 gentle miles. At

Volvo V70R seems like it’s gotta be on this list, especially if it’s first-generation (could also expand this entry to include the pre-1997 850 T-5R’s). Holds that old boxy Swedish look (plus, Jalop sensibilities notwithstanding, it’s a friggin’ wagon), with a 0-60 time under 7 seconds even in the late ‘90s.
