You make some great points and the ticking clock is one I did not consider, but this just smacks of Ryan Murphy telling us to eat our peas.

I have read The Handmaid's Tale five or six times and I find many elements in it which are black comedy. I am hoping some of that will be brought to the screen though I fear this will be like taking a Womyn's Studies class. Who knows. There is some good TV being made. But this title just screams Valuable Lessons.

I've put many a psychotherapist's child through college answering that very question.

I do recall Americans were hungering for a reunion of Felix and Oscar once upon a time.

As titles go, The Emperor of All Maladies is fantastic. The author is from India and I think that is why the title is so good. An American just wouldn't have that particular flair for the language.

Then the terrorists have won.

It's fantastic for many reasons but one of the best reasons sounds like a back-handed compliment: It is fewer than 90 minutes in length.

Prince took downers, not fun at a party.

Pity.

Yeah, in a humanities lecture.

I getcha, but I'd disagree that MST3K was a hate-watch. Their jokes weren't mean or intended to hurt anyone. If anything, they were far too erudite. And the bits they did were cute and fun. The 1990s were the advent of snark for its own sake, but I think this show largely avoided such a thing. It was apolitical and

lol, hate to agree? Was my premise so odious you had to hold your nose?

Mitchell is brilliant. "Leaves no sammich behind" is one of my favorite jokes. And I still think Gila Monster is great (and may actually be my favorite). I also liked the movie a lot.

As someone who orders Elvisian amounts of food thanks to the munchies, I have to say that a Diet Coke makes it all go down better. Regular Coke is just too damned sweet and gives you a stomach ache. Diet Coke or, in my case, Diet Mountain Dew, has a palate-refreshing effect.

I only watched it when it was Craiggers. There was something just so unctuous and mean about the show back then. I loved it. I was about 24 when it came on, so that is the perfect age for enjoying snark.

Merv Griffin.

For the record, Milo in no way ever told anyone to harass Leslie Jones. The is a lie. And it has continually been reported elsewhere.

Yeah, "The Wheel's on Fire". Though I never liked the song and knew nothing about its significance. Bob Dylan wrote it, for what it's worth.
