No, you’re projecting that onto me. Of course black women have it much harder in Hollywood than white men. Moreover, nothing I said would refute that fact because it’s impossible.
Luke Skywalker was quite conservative! Prudish even...
Agreed. Creepy is creepy, and nobody is going to react positively to that. I’ve never understood people who pretend they never check people out. Man are they missing out!
Also, Hollywood survived most of its existence not expecting people who play someone frail to lose 40lbs and be unhealthy. It’s called makeup, and it can make anyone look sick or frail.
It definitely doesn’t make sense. Then again, we’re on an article aggregating an interview, so what she meant is going to get lost a bit too.
I think it’s more that Tim Allen started becoming an outspoken conservative, so they adopted his show.
You can be an asshole. It’s the type of asshole. You can’t be a Mike Myers asshole, or the type Mo’Nique is rumored to be.
They don’t exist. Professional reputations are built on word of mouth. Hers is terrible. But what causes the reputation rarely gets out, except for in memoirs and the like.
There is no “it” needed. Mo’Nique’s reputation as a jerk has followed for years and years. While it surely includes exaggerations, every story about her is some variation on her being rude to people with less power than her. And it’s always something like her showing up and then holding up production until she got…
Yeah, if they hadn’t specifically used a woman with beautiful eyes in hopes to sell more magazines, maybe you could say they had other motives. But they obviously chose who they thought would sell the most magazines.
I should point out that I’m pro on both sides. There’s a difference between that and something like catcalling or magazine covers where it’s cultural sexism. This is one person looking at another person and digging their stuff, which gets criticized in the same way as cultural sexism too much.
Yeah, it should at least be a thing where any actor who is okay with it might end up having a nude scene.
There is none in your case. We’re on the same side of the hypocrisy argument. You’re basically telling me #notalljezebelcommenters. I get that. But I’m guessing you also know that both the site and its readers have been called out on that repeatedly. It’s actually at the heart of Gawker’s death too- they died…
No, that was you. Remember, I said something was hypocritical, and you said I had a problem with the female gaze. The next person knew even more about me.
Your projection is wrong, and you purposefully distorted my point to pretend I was being sexist. Additionally, because of your lack of argument, you did what everyone who has nothing to say does- yell at the person making it.
Nope. The only people I’m criticizing are people who have two different opinions.
Unfortunately, GLOW was a failure. It lost a ton of money, was a critical failure, and had terrible ratings. Since women were a “special attraction” through most of wrestling, there really never was anyone who tapped into the market until recently.
There’s no difference between the grey sweatpants thing and a bunch of dudebros ogling a woman’s camel toe in yoga pants. There’s no issue of societal privilege when lusting after an unaware person.
But it won’t happen because of that. You can’t show them erect, and it would be pretty hard to keep it fluffed up in some scenes anyway. It’s a nudity glass ceiling!
