It all goes back to partisanship. The more partisan the two sides are, the more policy comes from the edges. Feminism was a pretty broad movement at one point. It was liberal, but women of all kinds felt welcome.

Yeah, he was the biggest star on TV, after having been a star for 20 years and considered one of the best stand ups ever. It was always rumored that he wasn’t a pleasant guy, but he was still the last guy you would’ve expected to rape hundreds of women.

I doubt he ever would’ve wanted the queen to actually die. Rotten is one of the best trolls ever, but his actual views are pretty fair-minded.

Stupid people have the easiest time defending their actions.

Of course. But it’s not like this one situation is part of a large situation where men get help for online threats and women don’t. We don’t even acknowledge that men get threats at all, even though it’s likely they get just as many as women.

And while it’s a little painful to admit, the Beastie Boys too. They were “satirizing” in the sense that they didn’t mean for some of it to be taken seriously, but really they were just being as obnoxious as possible more than doing a knowing satire.

So this is a “what will I tell the children” problem?

Lol...please. Any liberal complaining about conservatives using Nazi references needs to get a grip. There have been non-stop Nazi references coming from our side. Either stop using them yourselves or shut up and take it.

It’s more ironic that liberals are complaining about anyone using Nazi references, seeing as it’s become a second job to make sure every person right of Bernie Sanders is called one.

Nah, women can talk about genitalia all they want. But it’s because misogyny has created a power imbalance when it comes to sex, so it’s still the same factors.

No. Keeping it real is one of the stupidest saying in the world, and it’s apparently never going to go away.

Sounds like they don’t from you anyway...

I don’t know. The hipster, vegan crowd is a pretty pure try-to-hard demographic.

Yes, why give them even a smidgen of empathy when you can point out how others have it worse instead?

That sounds like us- the privileged arguing with the privileged about who has more privilege.

It doesn’t matter who you are...if you feel like you’re just going to get criticized, you’ll stop going.

The one thing the conservatives get right about liberalism is that the time for identity politics has passed. People want to be liberal, but they feel excluded.

It’s a matter of size and demographics...as much as we like to pretend otherwise.

Or less true
