This case really shows how businesses aren’t thinking clearly about social media. They expect employees to maintain outside accounts that they have to grow constantly. But they don’t own the account and do have to follow state labor laws when it comes to firing people. It’s a grey area they’ve all adopted like it’s

Yeah, my first thought was that there are an awful lot of people who have been fired because of social media, and it’s almost always racism, sexism, or passing along conservative propaganda. If firing this guy violates labor laws, it’s going to mean the next racist can’t be fired unless they state actual hate speech,

The high strike was gone for 25 years, and nothing could get the umpires to change their zones. They claimed it was because it’s impossible to change mid-career like that.

No way. Extra innings are great in part because everybody is tired and pushing themselves through. There are more errors, fastballs down the middle, etc. Plus managers get really aggressive in extra innings, so it’s fun to watch the chess match unfold.

Bootlegging!

I don’t know. I’ve been through both, and both are pretty bad. But, Mississippi is simply scarier with all of the overgrown kudzu and weeping willows. It feels like the set of a horror movie.

My college (Texas Tech) used to be in a dry city when I was there. You could get alcohol in bars but not stores. So this was the result at the city limits-

It’s fun to see sports teams being willing to take up the cause of human rights. Overall, North Carolina is a pretty state full of decent people, but they need to go bankrupt if they won’t back off this bigotry.

Sounds like she’s a bad writer. But that doesn’t make her opinion crazy.

It really was written poorly.

I saw an airport scuffle once between two college aged white kids, and they were just brutalized by 10-12 cops. It was before people started filming things, but we were all like “Jesus, is that really necessary?”.

That’s not racial. You either smell like marijuana or you don’t. White people smell like marijuana just as often, and authority types always say that kind of thing.

Where did the racial profiling come in? He was charged what everybody else would be, demanded they turn the plane around, and got into an yelling match with the captain over whether he is supposed to get $4000 worth of free luggage.

You’re not remembering correctly. This is the only comment he made-

Here’s the problem though. To quote Clover- “Isn’t it nice that Hollywood is being forced to think and talk about these things and feel uncomfortable?”

Yep, but people aren’t thinking about why Hooters actually does well. It’s not that that it has cute waitresses. It’s that they flirt and make the men feel important. It’s not a positive thing to need, but men aren’t told we’re beautiful or given many compliments, so someone young and cute paying attention always

If that were true, the male stripclubs where women go absolutely insane would be raking in the money.

That’s not why it would fail. Hooters doesn’t get a big audience of straight women. The difference is that men will go to Hooters, but straight women won’t have any interest in BananaHammocks other than maybe being curious enough to go once.

All you have to do is call it burlesque, and it somehow becomes empowering.

There’s also the option of both of us agreeing that you’re wrong. Give it a shot!
