We have a number of historic house museums in NYC from the Dutch colonial era and I can tell you they’re not nearly as well taken care of as one might expect, they even catch on fire from time to time. Most often an occupied historic house is far more loved and less likely to be consumed by flames due to the

I know what flavor my nightmare is going to be tonight!

I’m starting to suspect God might be on meth himself!

It’s 2021 and Kinja is a complete failure, I can’t star or respond to any replies to my comments and half the time my comments don’t even appear. When looking for the Kinja support site, all you get is an “OOps, this page is gone”, it’s a disgrace. Seems like these Kinja sites have a core of commenters they take care

Exciting, we could have our own La Rinconada, why should Peru have all the fun? Except ours would be the lowest toxic shithole instead of the highest.

We do something similar in architecture, and it mostly has to do with cost. The cost of fabricating a bespoke steel beam fitted to another in a manner which would be perceived as finished quality is far more expensive than fitting glass, concrete or some sort of folded metal over the structural member, so that’s how

The desertification is well under way, so I say go for it. Maybe that’s why the Cybertruck is (supposedly) bullet proof? An awful lot of billionaires shooting themselves into space these days too.

Long Island, checks out!

I don’t know about drifting, but they’d make short work of a drawing and quartering!

the functional equivalent of having a layover at JFK and then claiming you’ve been to New York City

When did Americans become such pussies? You drive faster to outrun the hail, tornado, nuclear missiles etc., everybody knows that!

That may be true, but does not invalidate my statement. You only have to Google it to see that Russia has an abysmal safety track record compared to other regions:

I mean, it is Russia, it’s shocking to me they don’t have more incidents like this. Although Russia has had some very notable engineering achievements, and they can do a lot with just a little, safety and maintenance are not things high on the priority list at either the corporate or government level.

Taillight table lamp. Rinse, repeat.

I get the impression we’re just watching someone confirm their own opinions in minutiae that might be meaningless or misinterpreted. This would be so much more educational with someone who understood the thought process behind these designs and choices, which seems somewhat absent here. Is it NVH or fear? Who knows,

This was supposed to be a “Married with Children” joke, but it seems to have taken a different direction!

And yet, what I think of every time I hear “Dodge”:

The 2 has finally become the 3, or is it the 4? The 3 (or 4) has finally become the 5, the 5 or 6 gran coupe stayed 5 but the 7 became a 9 and 8 was 6, but also 8 a long time ago, which was just a 6 with 12 cylinders. I have no idea about the 1, is there still a 1? But the 2 is definitely a 3, or 4 now, yes indeed.

Did they think they were going to unbox that thing on a public street without anyone seeing it and taking photos/video. or is this their half-hearted attempt at publicity?

Because of the very partisan nature of our Judiciary and Supreme Court these days we’d better hope there are no rulings further defining free speech. With the Court we have now it would probably become illegal to insult Jesus, all thanks to a non-religious man who lost the popular tally by three million votes. Sigh.
