Im a GM guy, and love all things 80s and 90s but holy crap. It wasn't worth that price when new. The best example of this car in the world shouldn't top the scales over $1500, this is utter lunacy.

My mom was still riding motorcycles 8 months pregnant with me; dad drove her to a drag race at KCIR in a mk1 triumph spitfire at 9 months pregnant; 2 weeks after I was born I was at my first drag race; 16 years later to the day I drove the very same 71 camaro at my first serious event. So yeah.
Add me to the FD RX-7 list.
It’s a shame that poor Frankie has almost been lost to the mists of time. His memory deserves better.
Not only should we let them be exposed I would advocate for using more of them, tastefully of course. How many cheap trim panels have we all seen rendered useless because of broken plastic clips, or even the mounts for the clips? The inside hatch panel of my XJ is now held on exclusively by chrome self tapping screws…
Any “filled for life” auto transmission. No good way to check the fluid; special tools required to refill it. If a seal starts seeping, due to age or what not, you are pretty much hosed.
How is this janky? This fix is less likely to break than the original design.
Gm 2.8 v6. Rough running and gutless. Worse than most 4 cylinders. Particularly bad in XJ jeeps.
Very nice, wish it was built. Everyone is complaining about the styling but production cars are always tweaked from the concept, the concept was solid; a few tweaks here and there it would of been nice. I bet the second generation would of been gorgeous! The production viper was much better than the already very good…
Came here to say this. You can't talk about beautiful, artistic cars and not mention the FD! Still sexy after almost 30 years!
This is the content I come here for!
Xj jeep. Faster than you think, easily made even faster. Stroker would be a great father son project. Insane aftermarket support, just look out for rust. I know a guy near you that the city has been bugging to sell some of his jeeps...
Ok, not 60k worthy but your new prius will have all sorts of electrical gremlins in 10 years whereas this this thing would be cruising the highways until the end of time. Also not obsolete, does exactly what a car needs to do. Just nothing more.
In the town I grew up in kansas there was literally a road named division street. And if that wasn’t enough, the roads north of division all jogged a quarter block west just to let you know you were leaving the white part of town.
My rhd xj column is exactly like a lhd.
I hope it rides as nice as you say. We have a 12 ESV platinum with magna ride and auto leveling air. Even with new gm parts all the way around it still rides like an 87 chevy truck.
This 100%
Bought my mail jeep out of a field from a retired carrier. After putting in a new AW4 I started getting a bad smell over the next few days. Dead field mouse was dissolving into the carpet under the passenger seat.
Bring back actual stock cars! Give them a fire suit, helmet and make them have to pick a standard sedan off the lot!
As an owner if their last foray into the cruiser segment, (2000 R 1200C,) I would love to try one out but could not even come close to affording it. My C drags the kick stand at every opportunity so the break over point has always been crappy. I’m glad they gave it power though, because the lack of power on the C is…
