IIRC, the decision to kill off the G8ST was led by Fritz Henderson, who has been killed off himself. Fritz was also the person who said the G8 would NOT be the next Chevy Impala.

We got all assed up over the G8 ST / El Camino and nothing came of it. At least we could touch the hiney at car shows. Now it's no more and will never be.

When GM finally pulls their head out and converts the Holden Commodore into the next Chevy Impala, they can break out this commercial, update the graphics, and play it during the Super Bowl.
