It’s already begun. Esther is truly braving the YangGang wrath here.
This is not really responsive to my point. Royals can’t just “leave”; they can abdicate, but then the crown goes to the next in line. It’s not like the monarchy would end without a change in the laws that govern it. It’s super weird to blame the monarchy for continuing the monarchy when it is the voters and Parliame…
The Queen is 93 years old and has worked and continues to work most days of her life, mainly doing what other people tell her to. I doubt she thinks she has a “cushy job” that she is desperate to keep. I think she does what she does because she took an oath to do so (when she was only 25!) and feels responsible for…
It seems people have forgotten that lasting progress is through baby steps. Nothing is instantaneous and we have to start somewhere.
My thoughts exactly. I’m on board with celebrating at least one small victory. People can be angry over baby steps or the fact that they aren’t doing more, sure. But this is better than taking steps back? Better than doing nothing. Or maybe I’m just not jaded enough.
This article takes a snarky tone and all, but this is real, genuine progress. If the sales and purchase of firearms are removed from every day normalcy, and we remove open carry from every day places, gun ownership can and will be ostracized. This is an important step in the right direction.
Concur. I really needed something to keep the existential dread at bay after the 30 to 50 feral hogs thing ran out.
Maybe it’s because the rest of the news is a constant grind of awfulness, but I kind of love this ongoing slapfight between Actual College Professor and The Living Avatar Of The Dunning-Kruger Effect.
If he eventually wins the nomination, how long do you think we’ll have to wait until another DNC hack shows definitively that they Hillary’d him - i.e. “it’s his turn now, so we’re going to go out of our way to help him and not the other candidates to the point of possibly defrauding the American people”? Because…
I have no idea why I keep coming back to this hypocritical mess of a website. I think I mostly just want to see what real people think of this bullshit in the comments.
Wow. I’m shocked that the Jezebel Staff didn’t like something Taylor Swift did.
Hoo boy, Rich really got triggered over The Man and the presumption that rich, successful women might still receive more blowback and criticism than men in similar positions. “The Biebs gets criticized too!” is not a hill to die on.
Holy hell, this was a realllllllly long way to just say “we don’t like Taylor Swift that much as a person, the album was fine, 6/10.”
Joe Rogan is gross. Bernie should know better, but I guess he's gotta pander to Bernie Bros in their native listening habitat.
I think there are a lot of ways one could fuck up the execution of a public option, certainly, but the idea that there should be a public alternative to the for-profit ISPs is an unalloyed good. Currently American ISPs have found it easier to acquire their competition than to improve their services or set competitive…
It’s beyond pathetic that Bernie Sanders is giving time to Joe Rogan. But I’m not surprised that he recognizes that his base is liberal leaning conspiracy bros who love cranks like Joe Rogan.
The whole article is worth a read, but here’s my favorite/dear lord help us all moment. After going on and on about how his appearance is keeping him from attracting the women he so deserves, Truth4Lies then drops this little nugget on us:
this is the first time the phrase hanging chad has crossed my mind in almost 20 years...
This is one of the best pieces I’ve read about a public figure’s questionable past online/interpersonal actions since it actually wrestles with the nature of personal growth within Cancel Culture (TM).
