Mortgage rates also seem to be on their way back up, after several years of being very low. This would be an argument to not wait... avoiding PMI could easily be cancelled out by being stuck with an interest rate 1% higher than what it is now.

Totally agree with you on mountain biker encounters. As a MTBer and trail runner, I always yield to bikes when on foot. It’s so much easier and faster for the person on foot to make way than it is for the biker to stop and haul their bike off the trail (if it’s narrow).

There are only so many entrances to the track. I really don’t think there was any issue with how fast the safety crew showed up. Less than 20 seconds between impact and when the crew pulls up.

Agreed. I think it’s price correctly for the miles and specs, but I would still not buy it with those miles because it’s on the cusp of things starting to break.

Or we could just teach pedestrians to get their heads out of their phones and look both ways before crossing. You know, the stuff your mom teaches you when you’re 5.

Been living in that part of MD for 2yrs now. That district looks like it does a clean sweep of all the rich people in our area.

It costs about $5,000,000. That’s a bit of a downer.

I heavily rely on one-star ratings to make or break my decision to buy something on amazon. But I agree that you have to be careful and actually read through them to determine if useful or not.

LOLing at the opening flyover sequence with dreamy music.

Came here to say the same. That’s a good 10ft faceplant. Definitely wouldn’t have fared as well if she had walked into it.

Just goes to show how much of racing is about looking sideways instead of forward!

Yeah, I 100% agree. That reminds me of an M3 I saw last week. Custom rims, blacked out windows, and some sort of body kit. It didn’t even look that old, maybe ~2010, but was burning oil like crazy and sounded like an out-of-tune lawn mower. Looked pretty cool, but it probably had less than a couple of months of life

At highway speeds, nonetheless. Hard to wrap your head around the precision.

I wonder why they fold up, instead of down? Seems like this would be safer, because lift would keep the tip (mostly) locked in place even if the latching mechanism failed.

The second one actually looks pretty durn good. I would have painted the B-pillar white though. Kind looks like they just photoshopped off the upper back portion of the car.

Depends on how philosophical you want to get about the situation. Did the victim break a bunch of common sense rule about safely crossing a busy road? Yes, absolutely. Did she deserve to die because of this? No, absolutely not.

I commuted by bike in downtown Atlanta for 2 years; don’t have any NYC-specific tips, but I feel like the main thing that kept me accident-free was extreme paranoia. Always assume that any car around you will do something completely unexpected at any time.

I’m not sure what your quantity of “most” is, but a lot of technical grad school programs provide tuition waivers and a small living stipend in exchange for your soul. (I kid, but you do work your ass off for it).

THIS. The Ford GT is stretched out a tad more, but they have undeniably similar profiles. Especially the fender flare and roof.

and it kind of looks like ass
