I’m an AEMT, and I reeeally prefer working with other lady medics when dealing with angry or combative patients. Women are better at dealing with/de-escalating/calming volatile situations down than most men. I think a lot of it comes from how women are enculturated and expected to be the ‘peacekeepers’ of not only

Seriously, we’re *this close* to the GOP shouting “Are there no workhouses!?”

I have to second the rec of “Apocalypse: World War One,” it’s a fantastic documentary! I don’t know about “Hollywoodism” but I’m definitely going to check it now too^.^

MArvel’s “Runaways” on Hulu, he played the cult leader’s husband.

I get about that many too, every three months. My neurologist is really good with the needle though, and I rarely feel pain beyond the needle stick. Sometimes it stings when he clips a little blood vessel, but I’ve never had the burning feeling. I usually get...hairline, middle of forehead, the sides of my head (kind

I mean, for me Botox is definitely self care. But I use it to prevent debilitating migraines, which is very different than using it cosmetically. So I definitely agree with you there.

I swam competitively from the age of about 8 through high school and though I’m about a size 22 now, I still feel really uncomfortable in any suit not Speedo/TYR/Nike etc. (I’m an Old, so it was before tech suits really became a thing). I’ll definitely be giving that site a look-see, I’m in need of a new suit for

Oh, it’ll dry up quickly enough. Then it’ll be an even worse fire season, because all the moisture has made everything grow so much. There’s going to be an overabundance of fuels come July or so. I’m an AEMT and work closely with wildland firefighters (heck, my dad’s a retired wildland guy), so while I’m enjoying the

It’s hard to feel this way here in Wyoming right now. I woke up to 3" of snow all over, and it’s been snowing all day. Snow in spring is pretty usual, it’s how we get most of our moisture, but this is late even for us. I’m just glad I’m not down in Colorado. My mother lives in Colorado Springs and she woke up to over

That reaction to cute things, especially babies, is actually really common! It’s a bona fide scientific phenomenon; here’s some info if you’re curious^.^

Considering who she married, I bet she’s proud of that orange bastard.

I have mesh as part of an inguinal hernia repair, I’ve had it since 2011 and things have been okay so far. I’m definitely keeping an eye on it though because of this very thing.

The loafers are cute, but Mary Janes all the way!

Yeah, if there were bone protrusion or open fracture, there’s be blood. Some dislocations can be so bad they tear the skin, but that doesn’t look like what happened here.

I don’t think she broke them, but both legs were severely, severely dislocated at the knee. I’m an EMT, and even this video was a bit much for me. I’m glad she’s got the best orthopedics team and that her school team is rallying around her, she’s going to need the support as she recovers.

I heard that interview! If even a Bush (1 and 2) staffer feels this way, I weep for the state of the Democratic party.

Oooh, a new k-drama to check out! As a despairing broke college student, I am down!

Seriously, I’m a fountain pen geek and that’s not nearly as fancy as MBs get! nice job, Angela!

My father grew a beard in the 70s when he got out of the Coast Guard. I was born in 1985 and have never seen him without a beard (except in old photos). If he shaved it off tomorrow, I probably wouldn’t recognize him right away.

Yessss! Do eeet! It’s so very fun!
