Apple actively designs devices that are hard to repair. And then they charge you a fortune when they do break. They want $300 to replace the screen on an iPad Mini 2 that I bought for $245 as an open box. :(

I have an Asus i5 with a 1080 display, 8GB of RAM, a backlit keyboard, and similar that I bought as a refurb a year ago for $500. I had to add an SSD, but at $100 for a 480 GB Sandisk it wasn’t a lot extra. I run Photoshop and Premiere Pro on the thing.
