Alexa has been linked with the MercedesMe skill since I purchased a GLC back in April - while the unlock/lock skill doesn’t seem like much use, I have used it to remote start the car which I’ve found really helpful.

Typically when using a van for filming they have the side or rear doors open to get rolling shots of whatever car is being featured. I’m sure they were pulled over for doors or rear hatch being open.
