Fates used a modified system I believe. I think under 50% was 1RN and over was 2RN, but I can’t remember for sure.

It’s tedious for sure. I like it a lot more than the second seal system though. I will say that I prefer the three houses way of customizing.

Don’t get me wrong, the story is definitely better, and the first act of Fates is really good, but it’s so unbalanced, has boring maps, and ambush spawns, which are the only thing that can kill you late game if you know what you’re doing.

Also, I have to wonder if you finished the game. You could argue that the reasoning isn’t compelling, but multiple characters think that it’s weird that you’ve become a professor, and although I don’t know if it is explicitly stated, it’s pretty obvious why Rhea tries to get you involved with everything.

Do not fear Admiral. Three Houses is much more like the older games than Fates and (throws up in mouth a little) Awakening. The story and characters are much more serious and developed (although not perfect).

That’s a fair point. The monastery is a big part of the game, and there are a lot of supports (although I think most are well done). I would argue that it’s less about romantic relationships than Fates and Awakening though. Also, once you get to about halfway through the game, the monastery becomes strictly about

Strong disagree on the character development. Some of the supports are easily the best in the series, and they certainly blow Fates and Awakening out of the water.

Fates Story is terrible and Awakening isn’t much better. Conquest does have fun map design. I love Shadows of Valentia.

You hated three houses?  Please tell me you hated Fates and Awakening too then.

Those were great games

Over 2k here

People in the 90's said this about the 70's fyi

GX is incredible.  They need to remake that game with 4 (or 8!) player Grand Prix mode.

I’m pretty sure Bethesda already offers Daggerfall for free, so I doubt they care.

I agree, I hated how much of a focus they were.  Lots of cringey dialogue in there too.

So this game’s “spirit game” for lack of a better word, was FE4, which was the first one to have relationships but did it right by having a long time skip between generations (which is better than Awakening and much better than Fates imo). That being said, while this game does have relationships, it does not have

From my understanding, each character has their own shade that carries over across classes. I’m not sure if their is that canon class considering how skills and weapons appear to work in this one.

This...

Well you didn’t tell me what you liked or didn’t like about those games. I wasn’t going to oversell the game, it’s not perfect, but I definitely had the most fun playing it.

Well it depends on what you like in a Fire Emblem. The class system isn’t as fun as or interesting as Fates or Awakening, but I appreciated the simpler approach, and I also liked some of the changes made such as spell casting, bows, and weapon arts. The plot itself is not spectacular, but the narrative in general
