I could not agree more.  Sadly, I think having the weirdness be front and center might be over.  Polygon has a great oral history for Morrowind.  If you have a knack for that sort of thing, it’s a really pleasurable experience to dive into the ES lore.  It’s something else.

Bloodborne easily has the second best level/map design, and I’d say it has the best stand alone story, although I do appreciate Dark Souls a lot too.  It’s a gem of a game, and it might just be the best one of the bunch.
