G-XXXX is the British tail number system. N-XXXXX in the USA. It’s a fair guess they requested that tail number but it’s like a custom license plate.

2003 Mach 1 was extended into 2004 and in higher numbers. This isn’t out of the ordinary for Ford. Without this behavior, I wouldn’t have a 2004 Mach 1.
