These New Edge cars are just soooooo Easy to walk during a burnout too. When I used to race, I’d do my burnout and then walk her to the starting line with the tires still spinning. That’s what is going on in the final pic I posted.
Had my interest until the 3 letters of doom....A....S.....C.....
Send me a PM on Facebook or text me at 5708503673. A stock clean red vert just popped up for sale for $4k.
The Nissan 240SX from Hell with be there and my old man is riding one the three 1995 Buell S2 Thunderbolts we have to the event, not sure which yet.
Only the Cobras had the IRS. And the wheel hopping to death was breaking the half shafts.
I’ve always been bothered by the Bullitt skirts on the pre-production car (the red one). I wanted a set for my car but they are rare and expensive. The top photo was used on the reveal poster (blue toned photo) and a version of it exists with the original Bullitt skirts too.
Best I ever pulled in my Mach 1 was 12.93 @107.24mph. The car was stock besides a dyno tune, a Bassanni catback, and a Bassanni X-Pipe with the cats still in place. I ran BFG Drag Radial IIs with the original gatorback tread, 315/35/17. My mistake was the low profile tires. They would not absorb the impact of shifts.
3,oooRPM is the sweet spot on that 4.6L DOHC.
Amen. The car has two drive modes, grandma and IDIOT. You hustle it and fight the wild horse or you baby it and try not to crack a vertebra over broken pavement.
Thank you! They are fun cars and at the bottom of the depreciation curve so you can pick one up for a song.
See any article about “Car thief defeated by manual transmission”, “Gig-economy”, “Ride Sharing Startup”, etc.
Very much so.
Thank you. I enjoy the New Edge just because it's the style I grew up with and it's a fun car. The cable actuated clutch means no one else wants to drive it (too heavy) and the 1979 era rear suspension design means a little extra gas and I can be stupid even at low speed.
One of 3 items I plan on offering to the kids. I have a son and a daughter and I plan some day to let them decide who gets the Mach 1, who gets the 93 Nissan 240SX Convertible (Build of the week here recently) and who gets the 95 Buell S2 Thunderbolt motorcycle. They each choose one and I keep the leftover.
Thank you!
She has 130,000 miles on her and is currently parked to go under restoration (engine out, interior cleanup, repaint, etc) so I can hand it down to my kids.
Wait, so Boomers are allowed to make fun of Millennials and avocado toast, and living with thier parents, yadda-yadda-yadda, but say anything against Boomers and you’ve gone too far?
The Mach was built exactly to fit in that spot between the GT and the Terminator. Think about the massive performance gap that would have been there if the Mach wasn’t the fill in.
