Oh believe me, I understand that. I would gladly take an E30 over a modern subie....
We sold a beat to shit 98 Impreza Outback Sport to make room for a C-Max in our garage. I miss that car. The C-Max works but is just...an appliance.
You are fine. This is a nice looking car. So what if the badge is the poster child for beige? This one looks cool.
If my next car purchase were a commuter/runabout instead of a minivan, I would be all over this. I was looking at a 1.0L Fiesta ecoboost or the 1.0L Focus ecoboost a while ago but I don’t know if they are even made anymore....
I realize that, I am paranoid about this car. Sadly my worst enemy is Jeep Commanders. I was behind one last Friday, couldn’t see around, and she went from 60-0 in a panic brake. I panic braked too, locked the non-ABS, and ended up under her rear bumper. Now I need to replace the hood, nosecone, and a headlight cover.…
This is the reason my car is never locked. I’d rather lose a $20 charger than have to deal with the cost of a new top.
Interesting story on these. My wife and I went to the NY Auto Show in 2011 or so and talked to the sales rep at VW about this car.
I pulled the relay in the Mach 1 and ran a jumper wire. Now the fogs are fully independent of the headlights. Never had any issues with inspection.
As an owner of a 2004 Mach 1 Mustang, when I heard about the announcement, I called Ford Corporate and told them it was a stupid idea.
Not just “not Mustang Based” but not car based at all. “An Electric Performance SUV” was the description Ford gave.
And sadly Ford’s Mach 1 as well....
Despite my best efforts, it was pretty obvious I was BS’ing the cop to get us out of an actual fine. I figured any excuse was better than “We are idiots and campus security chased us off campus for doing this there.”
Wasn’t “pulled over” per se, but did get a stern warning from a cop in AZ when I was in college for teaching some of my fellow students how to drive in the empty parking lot of a municipal park. It was still light outside so the park was technically open.
