Used to be a Development Engineer for an electronics manufacturer (process and prototype development) when I made those. My specialty was micro-scale CNC, Design for Manufacturing, and new process development (including 3D printing obviously).

I had to turn to 3D printing to replace out of production parts on my car. The “ziploc” strip for the tonneau was missing from my car and long out of production. Enter SolidWorks CAD and a Prusa i3 printer, after 4 revisions I have the parts I need. Better than stock.

Tweed? As in that same sandpaper quality grey and black crap the graced the interiors of the 240SX too?

I love the weirdness of this little thing. I’ve seen a few in person (mostly junkyards sadly) and thought it was a cool idea. Sadly even if I got one I’d have issues with storage space for the tops. My dad had the same issue with his hard top for his Miata.

Remember the PENNDOT triangle.

Just a note for all non-PA folks: That 1-800-FIX-ROAD on the side of the plow, yeah, that number doesn’t work. Better to draw a Dick around each pot hole if you want it fixed. Just a friendly PSA.

Thank you for the clarification.

Thank you for the clarification.

I thought the KTM X-Bow was that weird 3 wheeler thing balding dudes bought because the wifey said they were too old to buy a bike.

Well I bought the 240 when we were first dating and she came along on the drive to pick it up. Then I had to go through everything covered in the blog (a little long but a good read) so we are both very emotionally attached to the 240.

Came here for Bender reference, was not disappointed. Have your star.

I almost bought a turbo FD but ended up getting my Mach 1 instead.

NO! NO! NO! A THOUSAND TIMES NO!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Welcome to the world of #oldnissanproblems. This generation of cars has a unique ability to break the oddest items at the most inopportune time.

My parents have an 02 escape that just rolled over 200k I believe. Besides the V6 tossing a rod at 20k miles the car has been mostly bulletproof. I tried towing a DelSol on a 2 wheel dolly behind it (btw NEVER tow a DelSol on a dolly. They waddle instantly and are impossible to control) and we ended up down an

Fun fact: the most annoying salesman at my previous job, someone who could put the term douche canoe to shame, had one of the bitch baskets that he drove “only when the weather was perfect”. He also despised my 240SX convertible since it ran better.

True. But at least now I have an excuse why I’ve lost traction and taken out bystanders.

Ge out and have fun in the snow? Check!!

Does the car have an aftermarket security system? I have issues in my 240SX due to one. Left linker acts like a burned out bulb if you have the marker lights or brakes on.

You’d be surprised the amount of fun you can get out of the Focus with an auto.
