Sorry to pose the spoiler quandary; I’m still deciding if I want to check out this anime. Please note that I’m professionally trained to push on ideas until they break and that I mean nothing personal by it.

I find it intriguing that this work is so deliberately halfway in its vision. They perfectly manipulate the body, but impose an artificial barrier where mind and identity is somehow separate from the brain and therefore not subject to the same capacity for manipulation as the rest of the body.
