This whole deal is the continuation of the years of trying to eliminate the New Deal. Hootin’ Newton Gingrich admits it. Welcome to the Milton Friedman/Ayn Rand “free market” capitalist “utopia” that they dream of. They have been very patient knowing that they can’t shock us into it like they did in Chile. They lay in

Step one: Vote smart. Two: Boycott businesses and business people who do not. Three: Save like a ninja (money). Four: spend as little as you can. Reuse, recycle. Compost, garden... When you do buy, do so carefully and consciously. Make your own stuff - it’s not that hard. And when it comes to food you’ll be healthier

You state an admirable proposal but it comes from severely flawed assumptions.

Oh, come on. This is simple.

The ultrarich in America do live segregated lives: they fly in private jets, live in private communities, get the stores and restaurants to open outside of normal hours, or have stuff brought to them.

Trump is definitely the worst, but he also gets plenty of coverage. I honestly can’t imagine that there is much that the media is actively ignoring about him at this point (unless they just haven’t uncovered it just yet). The news is pretty much 24/7 Trump coverage at this point, there isn’t much they’re going to

When that day comes, there will be plenty of good jobs to be had with solid upward mobility in crushing the revolution. Being the jackbooted thug pays a lot better than trying to overthrow the system and there are no shortage of people who will take the job.

As usual, Howard Zinn is dead-on!

But everything you’re saying is really just pointing out differences. It isn’t like we can *all* travel on private jets, or get stores to open for us (without spending $$$). We live in a society which has given money (or the absence of it) the power to define what can/can’t be done. That’s because some things are

Stuff matters little to the real rich. It’s all disposable and replaceable with the insurance money — if it even mattered in the first place. In fact, better to get you to burn it to the ground so thay don’t have to.

I dont think it will happen here. We have insane propoganda here. Something they didnt have in other countries. We have a 24 hour news network, that is the most watched in the country that lies on behalf of the GOP owner class. We have newspapers WSJ. The Kochs arent stupid, they hired PR firms years ago to control

I imagine these folks think that if things ever got that bad, they’d hop on a plane and bee gone. Of course that assumes that 1) the crowd lets them get to the airport and 2) there’s somewhere for them to go where the super rich aren’t treated as the super villains they are.

They simply think they are the best and smartest people who have ever lived, and when the mob comes to their door they’ll simply pop their head out and threaten to sue everybody, and that will be the end of that.

Not enough stars.

THANK YOU. Many years ago, I lived in Johannesburg, South Africa, which had at the time (and continues to maintain) a fearsome reputation for violent crime which put it in a league with places like Kabul or Bogota. I rented a cottage in Parktown, a leafy near-north suburb, which was on the estate of an Afrkaaner

That’s great for your Dad. Nice that after a year of being a terrible leader and with lingering allegations, he’s maybe starting to get sick of the Trump administration.

My parents are both pretty conservative and my dad was a freaking Trump die hard at election. Every visit home has been an opportunity for me to see if that’s the same or not. Turns out it’s not, these days he’s no longer able to stomach Fox and is finally doubting Trump as a leader.

The best you can probably do is to push journalists to continue to research and put on display all the skeletons in people’s closets. Speaking of, how come the media hasn’t been doing more of that on Trump? I would’ve thought he has a laundry list of stuff he doesn’t want in the public eye.
