Even hammers make him cry.
Even hammers make him cry.
Every time he sees a gavel he will be buried under the weight of crushed dreams.
He’ll never be able to enjoy statutes and preliminary hearings ever again!!
you have to take the whole picture in terms of what impact imprisonment has on a specific individual’s life.
I find that I am completely ok with demonising this particular parent for trying to get his rapist spawn off with a slap on the wrist.
If he were my son, I would be embarrassed and write a letter to the court APOLOGIZING for raising someone like him, not crying about how stressed he is because he got caught.
No consequences, absolutely no remorse, violent and degrading crime... what about this guy says ‘not likely to reoffend’?
Is this sarcasm?
That discussion is for the consideration of non-violent offenders. Not for rapists. Is your comment a joke? Am I missing something?
What a thoughtful and well-written response. I’ve said this a lot in conversations with friends, but this juror’s statement is another example of how this was a “good” case - as in, there were eye witnesses, the police did what they should have done, the jury did what they should have done - and yet the punishment…
He used Hendrix as an example too. Hendrix was an amazing guitarist, but he was pretty mediocre as a singer.
When someone speaks of virtuoso vocalists and uses Kurt Cobain as an example of one, then everything they say is automatically discredited.
My 16 year old daughter was a huge fan and we both watched Christina on The Voice. My daughter also has a severe death anxiety. I sobbed uncontrollably when I read this this morning. I don’t know what it is going to do to her.
thank you for having important conversations with your daughter and not sugar coating things. i am sorry you have to do it, im sorry she has to hear it, and i’m sorry she lost one of her idols.
My 14-year-old daughter was a big fan, and is really upset about this. We’re having some fairly deep conversations about gun control, misogyny and rape culture this morning, and it’s breaking my heart to watch as the reality of these issues becomes clear to her.
I figured that it was either a horrible “fan” or a horrible ex-boyfriend. As usual, Margaret Atwood quote, Margaret Atwood quote, Margaret Atwood quote.
And also fuck misogyny. Margaret Atwood and all.
I’m hearing stalker/ex boyfriend. Either way it’s tragic and awful.
“if your brother-in-law was going to assault his daughter, it would have happened already”
