I really admired Pinfield’s encyclopedic music knowledge in his MTV days but he hosts a syndicated weekend radio show and it is the most phoned-in crap I’ve ever heard.  I’m legitimately shocked it’s him.

The Nooner! That’s how I introduce people to KC barbeque - usually at that exact location. (For everyone else, the Nooner is a sandwich with chopped burnt ends on top of another sliced meat.)

Scott Wagner is an unbelievable dick.  I guarantee he wins.

Wasn’t Haley one of the lead suspects to be the author of that NYT resistance op-ed?

Chris Long isn’t even a starter.  He’s a rotational 3rd down guy.

Am I the only person who *likes* it when wrestling is absurd and overbooked? Give me the most convoluted finish imaginable! I have no idea why so many wrestling fans seem to want nice, clean, dull-ass fake sports.

Becky Lynch as popular as Daniel Bryan? Please. Lynch was cheered and respected and admired, but it was nothing like the kind of intense personal connection fans had with Daniel Bryan.

I’m certainly not an expert at crafting legend-worthy decks, so it’s entirely possible that psychmelon will be part of a completely broken meta deck. But there are definitely some downsides here:

I actually think Whizbang is one of the cooler things Hearthstone has done for its players. Rather than looking at it as a ‘weak’ competitive card, think of it as a sort of subscription service.

We had scrapple all the time growing up and my dad (a Philly native) would always flour it before frying.

Not to take Palin’s side in any situation ever, but...

I know in Ultima VI there were certain characters you could sleep with (no cut scenes or anything, just in the dialogue) and you could sleep with either sex.

Peter, I look forward to your Kotaku days because you always write about a game that was a big deal for me growing up. I played Ultima IV on NES and Ultima VI on PC, but it was VI that I was obsessed with. I’d never played a game so big, with so many characters all with extensive dialogue trees, and so many secrets

When I saw this in the theater, I remember complaining afterwards that all the product placement was unrealistic. “It would never work like that,” I said. “They’d just show ads on a splitscreen or something.” That’s probably the most wrong I’ve ever been about something.

Now playing

George C. Scott’s character is one of the greatest comedic performances ever, full stop. The scene where he can’t hide his excitement describing how the bomber could fly under the radar fricking kills me:

I taped this off TV and watched it a truly absurd number of times in 7th grade. Balka and Stralka!

But with all that crushing defeat comes that rare, rare moment of joy when you deliver lethal damage to a Mage that has a secret in play - and it turns out the secret WASN’T Ice Block and they actually die. This breathtaking moment of victory has happened to me at least twice.

I know I’m late to this thread, but there are some really important albums I haven’t seen mentioned yet. There was a pretty great late 80's/early 90's Christian alternative scene, almost completely lacking the preachiness that makes people cringe when they think of Christian music. Most of these albums are on Spotify.

RIGHT HERE I must be too old, because no one in this thread seems to know about Adam Again, The Choir, Lost Dogs, 77's, Michael Knott, etc. “Dig” is one of the finest albums of the 1990's. I think all the time about about the records Gene Eugene never got to make.
