I don’t think he is responsible for the crash at all. He did a block pass which happens all the time. Marquez initiated contact, and then locked the front. Marquez had space on the outside of the track which he did not use. He also could have braked and gone up the inside of Rossi, he chose to do neither and crashed.

How?

I screen grabbed 2 shots after his crash as proof that the brake lever guard was still there and “installed” during the race.
