I recently bought a refurbished one from Gamestop’s website for $30, so they’re still out there! But the memory cards, man...
My only regret is that you’re not going to get anywhere near the amount of stars you deserve for this.
You get a star for this excellent reference. FLAP FLAP FLAP!
I’m not the only one who loves Kirby’s Dream Course, I see! Thanks for the mention of that game. It really was quite brilliant, and I haven’t played anything like it since. There’s nothing quite as satisfying as shooting Kirby into the air, and adjusting the bounce spin just right so that he ends up in the hole.…
I’m playing Persona...only it’s Persona 4. I somehow missed that the first (and second) time around, and I wanted to finally tackle it before moving onto 5. IT’S SOOOOO GOOD so far.
Madison resident here. You’re not wrong.
I think you’re spot on with your comments. As a fellow Wii U owner, I feel like I’m getting a big middle finger from Nintendo. I don’t see a huge difference between the two products...and not to mention we’re being asked to re-buy Mario Kart 8.
I love FFX, but X-2 was a real letdown for me as well. I agree with much of what you’ve said, so I’ll just add this: FFX-2 felt like a game that didn’t respect your time, and that’s what bugged me. Sure, there was the filler and the unnecessary sidequests...but to even get the “correct” ending, didn’t you have to hit…
He did it all for the Nookie.
Had the same thing happen to me with FFIX! Good thing I love the crap out of that game, otherwise I never would have returned to it some time later (with a first party memory card).
My takeaway here is that people can argue about this...till the end of time.
It’s without a doubt my favorite Zelda game ever. I re-visited it a few years ago after not having played it since I was a kid, and was struck by the mature tone of the story. Here’s the thing that gets me - in every other Zelda game, it’s made very clear that you’re the hero and you’re doing the right thing. But…
But what happens if someone gets shot with...let’s say...a coconut gun??
For me, it’s been a lot of Stardew Valley. It’s nice to escape to a world where the biggest problem I have to face is “should I grow melons or blueberries this summer?”
I would add a fourth: “I studied abroad in (insert country here) for three months, so I’m TOTAL EXPERT ON AUTHENTIC (insert country’s cuisine here)!!!!”
Fucking amen to this. It felt like NBC barely used her in Rio, and her Olympic coverage is usually one of the best parts of the game. At one point, they had her doing commentary for marathon swimming (yes, I was watching this), and she managed to make it pretty fun and interesting. Wish they’d put her in more…

My head hurts just thinking about this. And I love Kingdom Hearts.
