Volvo XC90.  The R-Design can be had for around $60,000 or find a CPO and get the 100,000 mile warranty.  I thoroughly enjoyed driving our XC90 and enjoyed the comfort as well.

Would you say these are more "Altima" than "Maxima" in size/performance?  Tempting to move from my '13 GLI as it's CPO warranty is up in January to something a little nicer.

I drove from Monterey to SJ/SF quite a bit when I lived there as my family and I flew back east quite often. SJC was about 90 minutes, SFO was about 120.  Pretty much didn't matter the time of day.
