The torque penalty wouldn’t be worth the HP increase.

GLI is roughly a GTI in a Jetta’s clothing. Some slight differences and I believe the GLI is a slightly larger car, hence the reason I got one of them vice a GTI. Not to mention the rates on a CPO VW were way better than new (plus the big depreciation hit).
Not a me story but I know of it from 2nd-hand official documentation. Two young guys weren’t supposed to have motorcycles so they had them stashed at a storage facility a few miles away from their place. They go get them one afternoon and go for a joyride on the local interstate. They’re pushing 125+ when cops peg…
I got to drive an XR6 when I was deployed to Australia for a few weeks. Confirmed I would have purchased if offered in the states.
Had one (JCW) for 5 years. Only had an issue with the harmonic balancer. Miss the car terribly.
Disagree red is uglier. See Mustang. See sequential turn signals. I rest my case.
It likes to hang to one side. You gotta play with it to get it to hang just right.
But no manual transmission. Nor is it a diesel. Not that I’m aware of anyways.
Can confirm. Gorgeous in person.
How is it so effortless and smooth on it’s throttle delivery? Is this the best car on the road currently? Should I get rid of my retirement fund and buy one tomorrow?
That might be mine above. Can neither confirm nor deny.
I’m going the Ballaban route and gonna say the 2012/2013 Boss 302. Last of the live rear axle Mustangs, just enough retro and modern cues to always be known as a Mustang, minimal technology (especially 2012), rare quad exhaust system (side and rear), and TracKey (factory ECU tune in a key). The fact it performed…
It’s gonna be in the new Fast and the Furious movie obviously.
Real McQueen fans want a Porsche, not a “porshe.”
Call it a Ranger then.
I just remember the summer I was there I counted like three clouds. It kinda bummed me out because it was too perfect.
So it’s not a rebadged Explorer. Lincoln (Ford)might be figuring out badge-engineering only goes so far.
So based on inflation, it hasn’t retained 60% of it’s original value. Air-cooled 993's cost as much as a brand new 991.2 depending on condition and options. That’s retaining value and quite frankly amazing for a “regular” car.
Cops + doughknot = delish
