Interesting as I’ve seen year old (‘15) Golf Rs with the DSG and nav going for near sticker in my area. The dealer I just bought a GLI from had three Rs on their lot, all for MSRP, no haggle. I could see if they only had one but each was a different color and two had the DSG with nav.

If I had to guess, this was an automotive take on nautical lights, I.e you can pass on the side that’s green but not the side that’s red because the car is turning that way.
