But much like the show, the US could have chosen not to do that and everything would have been fine, and quite possibly better. The environmental damage alone has taken decades to recover from (and some may never recover).

Not a bad start, but I’d add that if we’re still not going to allow prisoners to vote then state’s shouldn’t be allowed to claim them as part of their population during the census. Oh and get rid of private prisons, of course. Incarceration shouldn’t be a for profit enterprise.
That’s a pretty healthy misreading of things. The districts where he didn’t have support were directly targeted, and have been for decades, as places where polling places would be closed, or made extremely inconvenient (like only having two voting machines in entire municipalities) as a way of depressing voter turnout…
Backfire all the way to the Supreme Court, which is the end goal here. And I don’t know if you’ve noticed but the Supreme Court is even more reactionary than it has been in the past.
Ok but what about the fact that via gerrymandering, disenfranchisement and the closure of polling offices makes it really hard for the people who’d be voting against these folks to actually even vote? If the laws are rewritten to specifically help out white Republican voters while freezing out the rest, what do you…
When did being a fan of something go from something along the lines of “I like this thing” to “because I like this thing I own it and it must always make me happy”? When did fans start feeling that they should be able to dictate to the creators how things should go?
I mean they were travelling with an heir to Coca-Cola. Pretty sure the thought was “any issue can be solved with enough zeros on the check.”
Ah yes, blame the workers for arbitrary rules they didn’t create. Way to go!
The idea that kids in public school could even have a “lunch debt” is so fucking depressing. Just give the kids food, damn.
fuck off TERF.
Just wondering- you pointed out who the 1st, 2nd, and 4th candidates were in terms of fundraising, just wondering if you meant to skip 3 for any particular reason?
You haven’t spent much time with fundies I see. They are a very, very, VERY horny group of folks (but will never admit it).
Connor’s recorded de-evolution in his single minded devotion the coffee man is impressive as hell, and also terrifying.
They’ll just be dismissed as soyboys.
Definitely starting to lean towards that.
One of the biggest regrets of my life was buying a house, tbh. Turns out I have no interest in maintaining a house at all, and don’t really care if it collapses around me. Anyone wanna buy a house so I can go back to renting?
That’s what’s known as something designed to “build character”, it’s what makes Philly the way it is.
Ok but the tokens were a pretty simple and elegant way of paying your fare.
So you’re saying Palin wasn’t a trashy running joke? Because if so you and I have very different memories of ‘08.
Profit sharing isn’t in any way socialism. The CEO and execs still get the lion’s share. Profit sharing isn’t much different from a king declaring that the harvest was successful so everyone gets an extra sack of grain this year, while he gets himself a new gilded carriage.
