But much like the show, the US could have chosen not to do that and everything would have been fine, and quite possibly better.  The environmental damage alone has taken decades to recover from (and some may never recover).  

Not a bad start, but I’d add that if we’re still not going to allow prisoners to vote then state’s shouldn’t be allowed to claim them as part of their population during the census.  Oh and get rid of private prisons, of course.  Incarceration shouldn’t be a for profit enterprise.

The districts where he didn’t have support were directly targeted, and have been for decades, as places where polling places would be closed, or made extremely inconvenient (like only having two voting machines in entire municipalities) as a way of depressing voter turnout…
