Things that the Doctor Who crew have made during the quarantine (or released for people to read/watch during the quarantine):

Did they have to respond after this as well?

The idea the Doctor is “socially awkward” is complete bullshit. Even the new the new one, she is absolutely an extrovert.

Hey, remember when the Twelfth Doctor was so insensitive that he had to have cue cards made? And Clara called herself his “carer” and he said, “Yeah, she cares, so I don’t have to”?

I don’t think it misses the mark at all. It was, in fact, on the mark. Too many TV shows and movies always seem to have the magical answer for the character who needs it. That is not the case in real life. This episode clearly showed that there is no magical answer that makes everything better. A show about a space

Open Question: How much of the backlash and response is related to sexism and assumed gender roles?

I’m not going out of my way to defend the scene in question, because it was definitely weird, but I could absolutely see Capaldi’s doctor doing the same thing, particularly in his first series.

...sometimes. 12 had a “duty of care” and that came out in some emotional ways once or twice, but Clara found him to be very cold and unfeeling at times. He certainly wasn’t giving comfort or compassion to Danny Pink either

Why are people so upset by this? Havent we all bene in a situation where we struggle to answer. Where we don’t know if words of comfort will help or hinder? Where we get lost in the labrynth of our own grief and retreat with regret and fear that we can’t quite handle, much less ignore to support another?

Speakers are speakers. They have an infinite useful life as speakers.

but removing his psychic perception filter so that said Nazis will see that this incarnation of the Master is a person of color on top of that. It’s not only extremely overboard—the Nazis were already going to turn on him thanks to the Doctor’s scheme with Noor’s communiqué—but what in the actual fuck?

Andrew Wyatt is a hotep that needs to take a grammar class so he can learn That he Doesn’t Need to capitalize Random words.

I’ll give you that Star Trek: The Motion Picture is long and breezily paced, but I respectfully disagree with most of your other points James.

I mean, you can.

Them: All I know is, if you’re gonna tell me that a child is going to travel the world for eight years training and learning to become a master fighter, I’ll tell you’re being ridiculous.

Jon screaming at the dragon was 100% just Jon realizing he was getting nowhere hiding behind a rock, and figuring he’ll die one way or another, so he might as well try to kill a zombie dragon. If the Night King’s entourage didn’t even realize Arya was coming until she was being choked, there’s no way a dumb dragon and

Yeah, homosexuality was just not accepted as it is today. I don’t think it’s fair to retroshame these shows. They should make millennials watch Raw and Delirious so they can understand how things were back then.

Exactly why people should watch, despite their reps. Baker and McCoy (especially McCoy’s last season) shine among the finest bits of Doctor Who when they’re at their best, but they were undone by behind the scenes elements that marred their respective runs.
