Ah, thanks for bringing us back 'round full circle @jll3. I do miss Douglas Adams...

Thanks - I appreciate the comments.

Great. Now I'm hungry for pizza too...

That's not what I said, of course. What I did say is that geothermic mechanics during that time period of the early provided more than enough heat to allow for water to exist in all of its states at one point or another without any assist from solar radiation. (I did my thesis in planetary formation and accretion, so

Yup. That's what I'm saying.

Not really sure where the "national inquirer" tone of this article came from, its not that hard of a problem, it's not a paradox, and people have known the reason for about 75 years. I'm kindof amazed that IO9 even published this article, actually.

I was hoping someone would bring up The Time Tunnel. Everything from the great name (I mean, come on, "Project Tic-Toc"? It drips awesome), to the weird period clothing, to the drive-the-car-into-the-secret-lab-thru-the-desert-floor scene is just... excellent. Ok, so 90% of the episodes were shlocky, but I just

....except, he didn't. Davies explicit has said on a number of occasions (including a few Confidentials) that the new Who was not a reboot, but a continuation. He didn't like the idea of rebooting something that Britain had that much social identity. Also, older character came back immediately - the Autons appear

I have mixed feelings about the movie - it wasn't THAT bad when you watched it in '96 compared to the other crap that was on - and it was damned exciting to see the Doctor again.

So, all this stuff we all get for free? Like, for instance, Gizmodo? Well, it's all ad sponsored. And those ads get more money for being shown if their targeted to their consumer. Where does that targeting information come from? Why, by finding out that people who live in the same zip code as the location of the

Annalee, does it strike you more than slightly ridiculous that you have a several hundred word article instructing people how to use your website?

I wanted to promote this comment, but I didn't know how.

Actually, not only is the explanation for the effect of the thermometer nonexistent, the description of the thermometer is completely wrong. If the statement "...each bulb in the thermometer has the same volume and therefore exactly the same density..." were true, nothing interesting would happen.

@spikespeigel: That it exactly how I read it - I didn't even consider the second interpretation until I read charlie jane's synposis...

@shroomer: The key is in this phrase: "...changing the state of particle today instantly changes the same particle in the future, even while the particle will not exist between those two points..."

Remind me again why they are rebooting a franchise just 8 years after it resurrected? A franchise that made $2.5B in three films? [www.the-numbers.com] Is it seriously just because they didn't want to pay extra $$ to Raimi and the principles? They could afford it...

@dcdttu: For my money, the N1 is still one of the more advanced, versatile phones in the android family...

@dcdttu: the purpose of the "google phones" isn't to show what android can be, its to have a naked android reference phone, without OEM provided home screens, widgets, addition bloatware, etc.

@José Leitão: Really? It looks and sounds a hell of a lot like Mary Jo... trying to locate a credit listing for Plinkett's ST "metaphorical short film" review (Also a mistie, btw)

@UberRob: Excellent! Thanks for all of the info on "Plinkett" gang.
