My problem with Libertarians is that they’re closet authoritarians. They whine about taxation being theft backed by the threat of state violence, yet always, always back police when they kill minorities or beat up protesters. 

It’s a common error. Pakistan also gets erroneously lumped into that category.

My dad used to get mad watching the news and blurt out “fucking republicans!” occasionally, so whenever I see “republicans” the “fucking” and general anger are implied.

They either benefit from it or enjoy it, both of which fall under the “evil” category (passive versus active, or whatever).

The press behaving this way is not just a symptom - it’s part of a feedback loop that channels more wealth/power back into the hands of those people working “behind the scenes” against our interest.
