We had a HUGE patch behind my parents house, and mom would send dad out into the thorns to pick 5-6 five gallon buckets worth for jelly making. I still only use black raspberry jelly. I just wish it was easier to find in

Also, some American producers imported Saskatoon berry bushes, and started selling them as "June berries". Then they started trying to demand that Canadians call them June berries too. Which was, of course, fundamentally stupid.

I used to pick these in the mountains around my house growing up. We called them black caps, but they're also called black raspberries. It's basically a cross between a raspberry and a blackberry. And it's delicious.
