I’ve been trying out BIAB and my efficiency has been way low. Like 1.030's when I need 1.050's. 2 weeks ago I tried squeezing the bag to get as much wort out as possible but its hard to squeeze a 150 degree bag with your hands. I grabbed a pizza pan with holes in it and put it on top of my kettle and put a cutting

Here’s a fun topic. Biggest homebrew failure. Like uberculture posted earlier everyone has a disaster.

I don’t blame you. They both have basically the same stuff. I just hate parking at the St. Paul Store. The Minneapolis store is nice too but I can never seem to get back on to 35w correctly.

better roast beef than Arby’s

I take it you’re from Minnesota? My first kits and most of my equipment came from Northern Brewer. I like both their stores but I go to Brew and Grow only for the mere fact that it is closer to me than NB. I have nothing against the staff of NB because they have always been super helpful and top notch.

I tried homebrewing several years back and was not thrilled with the final product. Now that I have some more space and can handle myself in the kitchen a little, maybe I’ll give it another shot. I really like the 1-gallon batch idea, seems like a good way to develop a feel for the process.

I’ve been brewing for around twelve years. I was very excited with righteous indignation when I saw the headline, ready to pounce on this story for getting my hobby wrong.

A friend tried to get me to drink more milk. How dairy.

I’m sure that after being stared at, they’d moove along.

Homebrewing is so fun and such an amazing hobby. For people who don’t understand it, you’re basically a magic person because you can make beer! MAGIC!

Brewing is a lot of fun and is a great hobby, or can become as much as you’re willing to put into it.

Aw, that’s a shame, I just watched it less than 2 weeks ago. Then again I’m in Central America so I may have a different library than you. Definitely check it out if you get the chance.

Amazing how sketchy those damn things always look. I’ve eaten pretty much all the cheap chips sold, but Rap Chips? Nah...

I don’t think I’ve ever been, but there are lots of places (at least where I live, maybe not in Arkansas) that you can get something good for $18.

I haven’t been to an OG in probably 15 years, but it used to be fairly reasonably priced for what you got. As opposed to the Cheesecake Factory, where you got about the same quality of food for half again or twice the price.

My favorite story about cigarettes is from Mad Men. Any actor that was a current or previous smoker would mean that their character was a smoker as well. Can you imagine being an ex-smoker and having to “smoke”? Crazy.

This has been one of my favorite things to keep track of in movies: food. I’m always so interested in any scenes involving food, especially holiday or big event meals. I know that so much work goes into the food but it never once occurred to me that the “food” had to match the actor’s dietary restrictions. That’s a

Smoked beers, probably more than any other style, are so incredibly hit or miss to me. For my palate, the key is to not go overboard with the smoke flavor. It can be done right for sure, but it’s a case of “a little goes a long way.”

My (former) stepmother who was German and had eaten actual Italian food in Italy on several occasions loved Olive Garden and said it was the best Italian she’d had here. But she was German, so that may color the results. I also know Mexicans who love Taco Bell, so it may be something along the lines of its not

★’d for “All Of Garden”
